Your daily routine in this role:
Reporting to the Vice President of HR, Safety, and Compliance, the Human Resources Manager will play a key tactical and operational role within the TYT Group. As a central pillar of human resources management, they will ensure consistency, performance, and team development in a context of growth and organizational transformation. The incumbent will supervise a team of three professionals specializing in human resources. This person will work closely with the safety and compliance department as well as the payroll, equity, and compensation department to ensure an integrated and harmonized approach to human resources across the TYT Group's various sites (transportation, warehousing, logistics, maintenance).
Main responsibilities
Leadership and team management
- Supervise, mobilize, and develop a team of three HR professionals.
- Ensure consistency and complementarity of roles by promoting cross-functional collaboration and knowledge sharing.
- Plan department priorities, monitor team performance, and ensure smooth communication with management.
Tactical and operational role
- Translate the vice-president's guidelines into concrete and measurable action plans.
- Support managers in the day-to-day implementation of HR policies, programs, and practices.
- Act as a point of reference for resolving operational issues related to personnel management, labor relations, and compliance.
Health, safety, and wellness
- Collaborate with the Director of Safety and Compliance to ensure effective coordination between HR, OHS, and federal requirements.
- Support accident prevention, monitoring, and the rollout of health and wellness programs.
Labor relations and compliance
- Advise managers on labor relations, disciplinary procedures, and performance management issues.
- Ensure HR practices and policies comply with the Canada Labour Code and applicable standards.
- Oversee the drafting, dissemination, and enforcement of internal HR policies.
Organizational Development and Employee Experience
- Develop and deploy projects that support employees' career paths.
- Roll out initiatives that promote employee engagement, recognition, and commitment, particularly among drivers and warehouse teams.
- Contribute to succession planning, skills management, and training.
- Promote a corporate culture focused on respect, performance, and collaboration.
Employer Branding and Staffing
- Oversee recruitment, onboarding, and employer branding initiatives to support the group's growth.
- Support the advisor in charge of implementing attraction and retention campaigns.
- Monitor labor market trends and adjust recruitment strategies accordingly.
Performance monitoring and HR indicators
- Produce and analyze HR indicators (retention, absenteeism, turnover, staffing times, etc.) to inform decisions.
- Propose continuous improvements to HR processes and monitoring tools.
Required profile
- University degree in human resources management, industrial relations, or a related field.
- Minimum of 7 years of relevant experience, including at least 3 years in a supervisory or HR management position.
- Good knowledge of the Canada Labour Code and OHS obligations in the federal environment.
- Proven experience in change management, team development, and manager coaching.
- Motivational leadership, sense of duty, and operational rigor.
- Excellent interpersonal communication skills and ability to navigate a multi-site environment.
- Knowledge of project management methodology (an asset).
